The Grandeur of God’s Creation

Romans 1:20 “For since the creation of the world His (God’s) invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made.”

Sitting in our cozy cabin in the quiet restful treetops on the top of a mountain in Tennessee, I watch as the rising sunlight washes over a mountain, revealing the crevices and definitions, the peaks and the valleys, and  making shadowy expressions as it bathes the mountainside.
As I drink in the beauty God has created and reflect on His greatness and glory, I am renewed and refreshed in my spirit.  Stepping out onto the deck to breath in the cool crisp air, I spot a much smaller, but no less marvelous example of God’s creation, a preying mantis sunning himself on the porch rail.  Grabbing my camera, he poses very nicely for me, before flying off.
Yes, reality is just two miles down the road, and we must drive through it to get to this beautiful mountain scene.  But whether I am sitting on the mountaintop overlooking the wonders of God’s creation or on the couch in my home looking out of the window at my neighbors house next door, I treasure taking time to be quiet and meditate on God’s Word.
I am humbled and grateful for the privilege of enjoying this special beauty of God’s creation, and I praise the Lord for this gift, but more than that, I praise God for His “Indescribable Gift”  II Corth 9:15, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Who, although He is the Creator of all, Colossians 1:16, loved this sinner so much that He set aside His glory and came to this earth, “born of a woman,” Galatians 4:4, to be a “propitiation for our sins,” I John 2:2, that is, to satisfy the wrath of God against sin and died on the cross in my place, as my substitute, that through repentance and faith in Him I might have the forgiveness of sin and the hope of eternal life and live an transformed life by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
