“God’s Kind Care”

I Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you” (KJV)

I Peter 5:7 “Casting all you anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” (ESV)

Years ago, I found a poem I liked and started writing it down on a blank page in the back of my Bible.  Before I completed writing the entire poem, I lost it and never found it again——until a few years ago!  Through this “instant-information-at-your-fingertips,” I typed in the title of the poem and there it was, right before my eyes!  Now I would like to share it with you.  This poem would make a wonderful bookmark if you printed it out along with the chart  “God’s Positive Answers”

 GOD’S KIND CARE

God hath not promised
     Skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways,
     All our lives thro’;
God hath not promised
     Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
     Peace without pain.
God hath not promised
     We shall not know
Toil and temptation,
     Trouble and woe;
He hath not told us
     We shall not bear
Many a burden,
     Many a care.
God hath not promised
     Smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel,
     Needing no guide;
Never a mountain,
     Rocky and steep,
Never a river
     Turbid and deep;
But God hath promised
     Strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
     Light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
     Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
     Undying love.
