Trust In The Lord

Proverbs 3:5-6  “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths”

The same grace that saved us and brought us to Christ is the same grace that will keep us in our Christian walk.  There is not a single moment in our life that we can do without the Lord Jesus Christ; therefore, our trust should be with all our heart.
Many people use religion as a convenient service.  They will make all the decisions and all the plans according to their own desires and wills.  Then when things go awry they run to God demanding that He clear up the problem and make everything right.  But God’s Word says, “lean not unto thine own understanding.”  Our first efforts of the day should be toward our Heavenly Father, “in all thy ways acknowledge Him.”  From our heart should first come thankfulness and praise, next repentance, then requests for others and ourselves can be made.
Lay before Him all those things that will be facing you this day: those tasks, decisions and problems that you know are ahead.  Then as the verse says, “in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.”  In other words “Thy will be done.” Matthew 26:39.
There will never be a time in our lives when we won’t have a problem of some kind or another, and to each of us that problem is very important and should not be regarded lightly by others.  Often we ask the Lord for the the problem to be removed and when God wills that it remain we fall into despair, wishing to run away (thinking then that the problem will go away).  Yes, perhaps that problem will be gone, but only to be replaced by a new one.  You see, if we can’t trust the Lord right here, right now, in the situation of this day, how can we ever think we can trust Him tomorrow when the situation changes and new problems arise? God want us to look to Him for this problem this day.  Then our promise for trusting is “He shall direct thy path.”  I surrender all to Him.

Thanks! And my Bible verse of the day went with this: “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18)

Basic truths tend to be the most helpful. Get the foundation right, and the rest of the building stands strong.
